I detested the entire quest chain and I wanted to run roughshod over both of them and lord an Initiative outpost in their backyard with a 92% planet viability rating already in my back pocket by the time the quest chain was complete. Picked Reyes, but only so that at least Sloane gets killed off. I see Bioware using this plot point in the future, Reyes and the collective as a spy ring at the disposal of the initiative, that may or may not turn on you based on your affiliation with Reyes, or Sloane as the Pirate band bought and paid for by the initiative, they may or may not turn on you based on your affiliation to Sloane. Sloane is warmongering, hate-fueled, sadistic and and an over all total B****. Reyes ordering the collective agents to behave around you isn't overly suspicious imo, more likely to keep his people from getting murdered by an ai enhanced super soldier and possibly gain your support and friendship in a coup against sloane. The poisonous mushrooms they are growing could be used just against the outcasts or potentially against all enemies of the collective, that part I cannot endorse. The prisoner getting beaten were horrible people, the lady even says one of them blew up innocent civilians in the slums and blamed it on the collective, even before she knew who you were, though abhorant doesn't mean they are doing it for the sake of justice for the death of the civilians or because he blamed it on them and they want punish him for it. They were domesticating Adhi, which doesn't really point to nefarious action per se, nor does it help win me over, they could be trained to be attack dogs for all we know. Everyone saying that the collective base changed their mind or supported Sloane more, must not have come to the same conclusion I did. I chose Reyes on my first play through, was going to chose Sloane on my second, but I couldn't.

But seriously, who would want to beat up poor Kaetus? I wish I had more chances to punch Reyes. Whatever choice you'll make, you'll leave Kadara with a bitter taste in your mouth. You have two choices side with the assassins who lied and used you so you can remove the protection fees, or keep the protection fees and side with the honest bunch (and Kaetus). Both parties can be brutal, but the only difference is that one is too honest, and the other one is not. Killing Sloane in a cheap way really shows what Reyes will do to get what he wants. you won't really know.Īt the end I went with Reyes for now, because I wanted to get rid of the "protection fees". After being played by them and exploring their base, everything they do and say makes me question if they're telling me the truth or not. I don't know if they were even feeding people in the slums simply to help them, or to win them over. They'll do whatever it takes for whatever it is. I feel like his people can be as brutal as outlaws and sleazy, if not more. The best part is that he won't extort people for "protection". It's like if you take Zevran's personality and Sera's personality (from Dragon Age series) and they had a kid together. And when she'll want to kill you, she'll tell it to your face. It's like you hate them, but you're stuck with them. And Kaetus? I like him nuff said.ĭealing with Sloane is like dealing with a family member whom you're not getting along but you still care. The group can be brutal and violent, but they're not afraid to be honest about it, for whatever it's worth. Unfortunately she doesn't and it's a huge shame. And I feel like she can always change how she deals with people, if she only wanted to. She has a tight control over her people for the most part. Even when she's rough around the edges, she can be pretty likable (and awkwardly soft). If Sloane would just stop her extortion from the people, I would pick her all the way.
